Held up much longer than I expected--a positive sign that Simone's reds might have a longer life ahead of them than many assume. This was rich but balanced with good acidity. A real delight.

Nose starts with some rubber and a bit musty. Very ripe. Then more fruit kicks in with black currants, blueberries and some ripe strawberries. But the tertiary aromas (wet soil and wet stone) remain quite dominant.
On the palate lots of ripe damson, strawberry and dark cherry. Quite some oaky vanilla and coconut flavors, too. Some smoky spice towards the finish. Acceptable but probably behind its peak and a bit one-dimensional.

Interesting. I bought this wine at the Chateau, drank three soon after, then put the remaining three in the cellar and forgot about them. A pleasant surprise. Still sound, quite light with good fruit, still redolent of Provence with the Grenache, Mourvedre and other grapes very much in evidence. Reading the other reviews, it seems to have a second wind? ***
Light ruby color - clear with moderate sediment in bottle. Medium tertiary aromas of leather/ earth. Light palate with only small amount of red fruit remaining, again tertiary palate. Really not much here, way past its prime. Rating withheld

boerne wine club provence 2015: Served blind. Somewhat murky dark mulberry colored. Most, including me, thought it was an old (25+ yo) Bordeaux, with leathery, gamey flavors, but then you get these sort of fermenting strawberry flavors like an old Chateauneuf which pointed in the right direction.
A new wine for me and the most interesting of the tasting.
