Family Winemakers of California (Pasadena, CA): Like the 2005, but with more acidity and more textural elegance -- a function of both the vintage and bottle age perhaps. Notes of sour cherries, red clay, and wet soil.

Very complex and powerful. Dark cherries and burgundian funk on the nose. Flavours of black cherries cocoa and forest floor on the mid palate. Long silky finish. Impressive effort for a $25 pinot.
