Considerably lighter in color and more generous than the 2003 Im Sonnenschein GG that I drank six weeks or so ago. Despite the extreme quality of the vintage, this is still Rebholz the Protestant of the Pfalz, as a friend once brilliantly described the wines. Lemon and tropical fruits, a rich body, and yet strong grip that makes the wine more intellectual than sensual. Cellared since original release.

Goldenrod color. Petrol and honked stone fruit on the nose. There is a sweet, yet incredibly dry quality to the nose. In the mouth is is bone dry. Really a delicious wine that got better and better with air.

2003 Dry Riesling - Ten years after - Part Two: Amber coloured. In the nose, there's some banana, brioche, spring flowers, dried herbs. It reminded me of Silvaner at first, but the Riesling characteristic comes out with time. It is very herbal though. On the palate it's consistent and precise, very dry, nicely mineralic with fine acidity, some Tonic in the finish. Very complex and aromatically interesting.
