Garnet color, light compared the Bordeaux, Cabs and Italians I have been drinking but much darker than recent Burgs which were from weaker vintages (2002, 2003, 2004).
Some real funk on the nose, a woody sharpness. Splinters? Anyway, not altogether pleasant. Very tannic, sour, grating. No noticeable fruit. To the extent that there is a finish (and there isn’t much) it’s unpleasant. Will it get better with some air? Some age?
