Mild bricking at the rim; nose of dark berries with violets and touch of vanilla; smooth ripe attack with soft midpalate and integrated soft tannins. A lovely soft wine. Drink now

Our bottle had quite a lot of barnyard aromas. Taste was rather closed with some dark berries and mild spiciness. There was some depth and complexity to it, but I couldn't quite grasp it. Did not understand and particularly enjoy this wine. Certainly should have decanted it for a couple of hours, but didn't have the possibility. (B-)

Medium red colour with light red edge and hints of brick. In the nose ripe and sweet fruit - red and dark berries and some stewed plum, some barnyard and other animal notes including blood, hot iron filings, mild spice and some coffee. A warm impression on the nose, which is quite pleasant. Medium bodied, mixed red and dark berries but not too concentrated fruit, noticeably spicy, OK acidity, some tannin, just a hint of bitterness, and a bit "angular" in the aftertaste. The palate isn't as good as the nose, but has come together a little better than when tasted in 2008, when it seemed quite disjointed. This wine has probably peaked.

Opened at 4pm, decanted and first tasted at 6pm. Initial impression was one of dissapointment. Very little offered on the nose and quite closed. Vague notes of plums, prunes, figs, leather & tobacco on the nose which became stronger by 10pm. Quite well balanced but I doubt it will improve much with further cellar time.

classic taste, soft tanine, high alcohol, spicy, dusty, could have been more fruity... guess it should have been drunk earlier
