Thursday Night 5 for $5 (The Grapevine - Pocatello, ID): Pale ruby color, aromatic cedar, cinnamon, berries, wood, funk, cherries and...radish? Light body, smooth acid, medium round tannins with moderate flavors of tobacco and cherries. Long finish. Good balance, nice mid-palate. A touch of heat. Wonderful complexity and non-fruit characteristics for the price. Good QPR.

Some spicy pinotish characteristics on the nose which is mostly dominated by ripe fruit. On the palate, the fruit turns to super ripe, with little else apparant. A little hot, but fairly smooth with lack of tannins. This isn't a really good pinot, but for the price, would be a nice wine to pour with a lot of people, as the ripe fruit and lack of tannins make it an easy drinker.

(BOGLE PINOT NOIR RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY) #3; VaynerPAZZZZZZZZ; COLOR-light to medium; NOSE-eucalyptus menthol component; secondary cherry; kind of weird; TASTE-not atrocious, but not good; pretty thin & basic Pinot Noir; cream cheese creaminess on the finish; lacks focus; has some cherries & strawberries, but eucalyptic medicine component that I don't appreciate; doesn't excite me; off-balance; ; GV-no scores this week, but a PAZZZZZZZZ

Nose shows dusty berries while the palate has earthy rasberry fruit and a tart finish. Very nice.

hot and young - good qualities in women, bad qualities in wine
