Deep purple blue color. Young and vigorous nose with blackcurrant, leather and spices. Very expressive and lively taste with a sting of alcohol at the end. Medium long finish. A bit unruly in the beginning but something that settled down after an hour or two. A well build Bordeaux with a promising future. Tasted excellent day 2. Better than expected but the remaining bottles will be saved another 3-5 years.
Similar experience as the ones I had 2001 and 2005 vintages. I let the wine breath in the bottle for an hour. The nose was complex with mocha, toffee, cassis aromos. After swirling in the glass, a second layer of aromas came out: meaty, mushroom, chinese tea, tobacco and cigar box. The wine had good acidity and modes tannin. It had a first palate of dark fruit with a herbal touch, followed by a second palate of minerality. However, this wine had one shortcoming. Somehow I feel this wine is a bit lean/watery..., it is not as creamy as I had the 2001 and 2005 vintages. +5+12.5+17+7.5=92pts

(Chateau Chasse-Spleen Moulis) This has some nice fruit on the nose, with a rather dusty character. A dry and austere palate follows, with a firm although ripe tannic grip. It has good acidity, but moderate fruit, and is rather classically styled. A lot of structure here for the substance of the wine. I don't know how well this will come together.
(Chateau Chasse-Spleen Moulis) This has a rather restrained nose, rather subdued. It certainly lacks impact on the palate. There is a ripe rounding off of tannins, nicely presented, but little in the way of texture or flesh. A rather bare, exposed wine which perhaps shows the difficulties of the vintage. Not a success for Chasse-Spleen it seems.
