Open 45 minutes before serving. Dark, ripe fruit aromas that are mostly evolved that are well completed by woodsy spice. Equally mature flavors that show the vintage character fairly clearly. Good now, probably slightly better a few years ago, but with the density to continue to drink well for another 5 years.
This was really very good, drunk with Beef Wellington. Beautiful colour with a hint of bricking, but it took an hour in the decanter to really open up. Deeply savoury. I'd say it could have developed for a few years yet, but it was still delicious.
Grabbed from my Vinotemp and opened right away, I wish I had decanted this wine for maybe an hour has it kept changing and opening up. Nose of a bit of funk, some cola aswell. On the palate this is drinking great right now. If you have any, give 'em an hour in the decanter.
