still feel this is one of the best priced chateaux in Bordeaux, lots of vanilla, spice, tobacco leaf, with lots of deep dark fruit on the nose, palate is quite rich and upfront with the same dark fruit and tobacco leaf notes through the mid palate but the dusty dry tannins are pronounced on the finish though not excessively just noticeable
The nose showed intense red berry and cedar with minty herbal tones adding freshness. On the palate, it showed soft, supple textures with red currant and wild berry fruits, licorice and tarry tannin providing grip and balance. It was long on concentrated red berry and herbs throughout the finish. The ’06 Lafon-Rochet was very pleasant and easy to like.
Clean. Clear. Still comes out as a young wine, but with a touch of development. Medium intesity on the nose, some toast, sweet fruits, I thought it reminded me of warm fruit from to much sun, but I also get some fresh notes (I was a bit puzzled). The palate was a bit hollow, good acidity, ripe tannins, firm, finely grained. Good length on the finish.

(Chateau Lafon-Rochet St Estèphe) A dry and oaky edge to the nose here, alongside dark, sweet cherry fruit. It has a nicely bright palate, which possesses a good tannic backbone well covered by blackberry fruit. Slightly austere structure through the midpalate, a serious style of wine with a lot of grip. Nevertheless it has a good composition.
(Chateau Lafon-Rochet St Estèphe) A nice nose here, quite complex, with a good depth of fruit. Attractive palate, rounded, textured, some good flesh to cover the tannins. Decent acidity. This has good character and is an interesting wine.
