Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Decent amount of aroma and flavour in this inexpensive number. The "Fume" appellation is meant to conjour up images of the Loire I suppose and it does have a little bit of that quality - as opposed to the lean grassy herbal new world character. There is a hint of sweetness at the beginning that is a little clumsy - almost like added sugar. It lacks the bite that we tend to like about the SB. The TJs "wine guy" tells me proudly these are exclusive to the franchise hence the low prices. I sometimes imagine a giant factory with several vast tanks which are adjusted to deliver whatever "varietal" is called for - much like how modern paints are mixed at Home Depot.
