  • Very small production < 300 bottles total, in a vineyard tucked in a corner between Nuits and Vosne. Opened with lovely perfumed nose--in the glass some depth and complexity but a bitter note. Accordingly, despite the instructions on bottle, I ran through a coffee filter, which removed some harsh sediment, though the bottle had been stood up for a week. Result was lovely, somewhat plush, very pure raspberry and Vosne spice, leading to a medium finish. I don't drink so much Leroy--can't imagine why :)--and this was a special father's day gift. But contrary to the hype, this wine seemed like a perfect version of what it was: somewhat difficult vintage, nice lieu-dit, as good as this wine could ever be. If you have any, you might drink up, but it was a treat, and went well with the 4 course dinner partner and son prepared for me.
