  • Fruit Day - poured lemon but changed to gold in the glass within a minute. Definitely oxidized (aged) with bruised Golden Delicious apple but also beeswax, Granny Smith apple and a touch of lemon on the nose. On the palate, it’s like a Petit Chablis initially with citrus, mineral and bright acidity but follows that with pear, apple, lemon and dried apple - virtually no sign of oxidation on the palate until late and then it’s a pleasant aged note. Terrific texture on the palate - rich and yet lively! The finish is very long with some butterscotch, toffee, apple and honey. This is remarkably well preserved and eminently drinkable now. Would I wait any longer? No - I only kept this as an experiment - a terrific one as it turns out. Weinbach always seems to come through for me - even this Sylvaner!

  • Simple fruit, average acidity. Worked well enough with a meal, but certainly nothing memorable. Would not purchase again.

  • Has a dry Riesling like stoniness along with enough acid to carry some length for this otherwise one-note wine. One good note, at least. 86-87.
