Tasting Group Dinner (Brad's House, Minneapolis): Amber/caramel color. Heavily maderized. Flavors of stewed strawberries, blood orange, and caramel. Almost no bubbles. I thought this was over-the-hill, but others liked it much more.

Holding remarkably well with plenty of freshness and fruit.

Stewed strawberry, plum and orange. Palate had medium plus acidity but the mid-palate flavour was a bit short. Nose showed better than the palate.

Sometimes old bottles offer up surprises. This bottle, from the first Steve Verlin auction, was a stud. Fresh, but gorgeously mature. A wow bottle.
