Very pleasant nose of blackberries and plums, with some more savory notes on the second day. Very smooth and rounded on the palate. Some nice savory notes on the palate as well - some herbal notes balanced by the sweet fruit. A very decent showing.
I would actually augment what Ron wrote only to the extent that to me all the components he mentioned had merged. While still some tannins to give the wine grip this is definitely in great place to enjoy if you like wine with age. It's not that the wine got complex tertiary notes so much as all the primary flavors had blended nicely.
Strong nose of sandalwood, leather, red fruits, forest, with a hint of sweet cherry and tabasco. Nice sweet palate, with some subtle earthy undertones, green herbs. A surprisingly delicious wines. Some nice tannins still. Nice long finish. Good acidity that leaves one wanting more. This should last a bit, but definitely pleasant drinking now
Medium garnet color. Fruit forward nose, plum and prune mostly, with vanilla, caramel and cinnamon. On arrival, low tannin and low acidity. The fruit is decent in the mouth; taste is a one-dimensional experience. Finishes short. Past its prime by a ways but drinkable. Guess ventured: 1990 Raymond Napa Cabernet. Tasted blind, from my brother's cellar.
