  • Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; St. Emilion (@ RW): Herbs and spices as well as red and dark berries in the rustic bouquet. On the palate a full bodied wine with vanilla, beautiful acidity, sweet chocolate, slightly sticky tannin and in fact still youthful. Rich and beautiful. Underrated here.

  • Served at 14 C. Classic crimson colour for a classic claret with orange rims and a darker core.
Clean notes of roses, flesh meat, thyme, rosemary and lavander. Balanced and well defined aromas.
Honestly on the palate is less interesting whilst savoury and quite long.
In a very beautiful place. Modern style? Fortunately it's not inside this bottle. By the way there's not heat at all. Shame on critics

Servida a 14 grados.
Notas limpias a rosas, carne fresca, sotobosque y lavanda. Aromas equilibrados y bien definidos.

  • Same as last bottle, though perhaps a little more well defined. A good wine, though I think of the 6 bottles I owned, the one I preferred was at about 6 years of age for this early ripening 2003.

  • I was very happy that this bottle was better than the previous one that seemed to be seriously past its prime. This one had a nice ruby colour, with a very timid nose at first with metallic aromas and red fruit, but as an hour or two went by, the nose became more precise and potent, with nice aromas of raspberries, red currants and brown sugar with a moderate length. It still has good acidity and some tannin, and might be able to live longer, but based on the previous bottle, I won't be taking any chances. The previous one deserved a score of 84-85 - this one is an 89.

Belle robe rouge rubis limpide.

  • Nice red color. To be honest, it was really nothing when first opened.
Not much aroma, bitter and sour, with little aromas. It took double decanting twice and about 1 hour to open up. In a sense, this may mean that it can age more. Once open - sort of approximate flavours. I recall the wonderful flower aromas of the 1990; the wonderful brown sugar and red fruit aromas of the 1986. Here, well, red fruit, some vanilla. May improve, may not. I have two bottles left, may try again soon.
