Tasted at Singer & Foy survey of Ridge wines. Black-purple-ruby color. Nose has an interesting waxy chocolate component. It it lacks something. Palate is similar. A little weedy and a trifle green, it is merely decent. 5-8-11-4: 78/100.

Medium-dark ruby. Purpleish cast. Good legs. Nose is certainly aromatic, but somewhat disjointed; fermentation smells abound. On the palate, hard to describe. Chocolatey, a bit vegetal. Not together. Not unpleasant, but not really good. Little in the way of tannin; probably at its peak; that's not saying much. Main problem is lack of varietal character. Short, Stemmy. 5-9-12-4: 80/100.
