  • Superb body, great fruit, balance and bouquet and finish. 1 1/2 hour decant and still drinking perfectly after 4 hours. A classic!

  • A bit foursquare and unexciting. Nothing wrong with it, just a bit dull and plummy.

  • PnP tonite with a mushroom and polenta dish the wife prepared. Nose and palate exude notes of earthiness, mushrooms and a bit of black cherry fruit. Tannins fully resolved, decent length. Not nearly as much fruit as the last time I had this wine, and seems to have peaked. Nice wine, ready to drink right now

  • First bottle (and sadly my last) in almost two years. This wine remains very vibrant and energetic, and reaffirms why patience and cellar space are a necessity for Burgundy lovers.

Pulled a pristine cork and slow oxed for approximately one hour. Barely a trace of bricking with good ruby color. Bursts with red currant, damp leaves, cinnamon, and faint pine needle. On the palate this has persistent and driven acidity on entry where this picks up layers of red berries, spice, and faint wood before settling into an extended subtle spice finish. No heat.

This wine has been tremendously consistent over the course of 10 bottles. A great value, and pleasure to drink. Drink or hold. 91-92.

  • Drank with the Marks at L'Escale. Big, bold pinot that had a very earthy mineral quality. Generous nose of raspberry fruit that seemed riper than it actually was on the palate. Lots of earth, slightly hot and much minerality here. I would've preferred more ripe fruit, but still enjoyable. Somewhat on the chunky side for a red burg.
