PnP out of cellar, consumed over 2 days. Meaty, bloody, with notes of black pepper, licorice, and deep black cherry fruit. Beautiful med acidity, with fine, astringent tannins and a long finish that is rustic and complex. Drinking well already, but likely near it's peak, and should stay there for 8-10 yrs or so.
I'm new to mature syrahs, or as in this case, syrahs in the beginning of their maturity. To me more intesting than good, maybe. Peppry and meaty and maybe olives. Quite different from a young syrah that is full of berries and easy to like.
