  Nose was mellow but inviting. The wine was very good right out of the bottle after opening. We decanted for about 30 minutes before a steak dinner. The wine was reviewed as "drink by 2010" but in May 2014 it is still in superb shape! Flavor is smooth red cherry with vanilla and oak. The oak has mellowed from 2008 and is very well balanced with a pleasant, lingering finish. We only paid $12.60 with case discount (roughly 7 yrs ago) and this is a tremendous wine for the money. I wish I had bought and cellared a lot more of this gem!

  Oeil : profond, opacité 7/10, aucune trace d'évolution, forte viscosité en parois, larmes épaisses et lentes
  Nez : projection d'intensité 7/10, cassis, cèdre, boisé, vanille, poivrons confits, torréfaction, simple mais sympa
  Bouche : sec, plutôt gras, acidité moyenne+, amertume moyenne+, tanins plutôt souples, persistance moyenne-courte, rétro boisée, fruitée
  Conclusion : sympa, tape-à-l'oeil, la présence boisée est étonnante après 10 ans, mais on y revient. Rien d'intellectuel ici, c'est un vin à boire entre amis sans se poser de questions...

  Aromas and flavors of cherry and dark fruit, with a rich oakiness also notable on the palate. Overall a very good bottle of wine and a fair value.

  Drinking very well right now. Smooth tannins, youthful fruit giving way deeper, more complex notes. Well worth the wait.
