Less developed color than previous bottle. Some firne / petrol on the nose, together with citrus (orange and clementine) and dried candies. Elegant and soft. The sharp acidity that characterizes the Zilliken wines is not present here, which is due to the vintage?
A return to form after my last bottle was a bit disappointing. Lots of bright apple, peach, and tarter lime and lemon fruit combining seamlessly with maturing honeyed and smoky notes, and a stony mineral element, all conveyed on a light frame that balances moderate sweetness and bright acidity perfectly.
I would not have guessed that this was such a young wine, as it tastes a decade or two more advanced than it should be. Lemon cream, red apple, pear. Quite good, but initially lacking oomph. Improved a bit the next day, but unlikely to improve much in the cellar.

(Zilliken Saarburger Rausch Riesling Spatlese) Very detailed and aromatic nose of peach, slate and spicy apples. Very layered nose. Unbelievable ripe and dense. The acids though are very prevalent. Incredible.
