From a 1.5L bottle. Ten years from vintage and still fresh tasting. Served well chilled, a very pleasant wine that had the stuffing to accompany roast beef with all the trimmings; if pressed for a description, I'd say it tastes like something in between a Puligny-Montrachet and a Meursault. :-)

This bright, juicy Chardonnay only lacked depth to score higher. It was tasted side by side against the DuMol which was the consensus winner by a long shot. On its own it was delightful, clean, crisp and tasty. The oak was well integrated and the finish med length.

Nose: Subtle assorted herbs with nuts, mineral, oak and lemon aromas. Very cool nose. Palate: Very rich yet deft due to good acid levels with flavors of lemon and assorted citrus fruits and a solid, but not overbearing oak framework. The balance is extraordinary! While unmistakenly Caliesque there is a Puligny Montrachet quality to this wine. One of the best CA Chards I've had in quite some time. Drank from a Magnum. Time has been good to this wine and while I would say drink soon this could go another year (perhaps a little more) if it is in a Magnum format given the balance of acid to fruit. Fantastic effort from Sea Smoke!!
