This shows more density than most wines in its class. Very big style. Clear presence of oak but still allows the anise, black cherry and plum fruits to show themselves in the glass. Long finish but without much focus or detail
First Look at Some 2005 Red Burgundy: Wine of the first flight. Our group includes people who prefer the more traditional style and others who prefer the more modern style, but everybody enjoyed this wine. Lots of nuance and already showing the emergence of interesting spice. It had a bit too much oak right now for me, but I think this will be a beauty in another year or two.
This wine is all about bouquet. A solid ruby color, a nice refreshing smell, but the bouquet is charming with notes of forest berries, most prominently raspberry. The finish is short... but you'd want to drink it again! Curious to see how it evolves over time in the cellar.
