Organic non-vintage wine, purchased from the producer in November 2022. The nose is initially really tight and rather vegetal and yeasty but it eventually opens up to reveal some citrus and floral aromas. The palate is comparatively more pleasant and open from start to finish. Lots of freshness and a respectably long finish. Overall, it is nicely balanced and enjoyable enough but it admittedly lacks significantly the awesomeness that one might expect coming from Huet.
APPEARANCE: Color & intensity: pale lemon
NOSE: Intensity: medium Aromas: blackcurrant bud, bread dough, grapefruit, lemon, crushed stone, white flowers Development: developing
PALATE: Sweetness: dry Acidity: medium (+) Alcohol: medium Body: medium Mousse: delicate Intensity: medium Flavors: lemon, crushed stone, smoke, lemon zest, bread dough, hint of salt Finish: medium (+)
CONCLUSIONS: Quality level: good Potential for ageing: can drink now but has potential for some further ageing

Loire valley (and a little Champagne); 9/14/2023-9/22/2023: From 75cl at Huet tasting room in Vouvray, probably opened 4 hours. 2019 base wine with some 2017 + süssreserve. Very gentle bubbles. Tough-textured, green apple-skin entry; dull, inexpressive mid-palate, sulphurous finish. 85P?

Shows a pure mix of lemon and grapefruit with searing acidity and a long, refreshing aftertaste. Pure and elegant across the palate.

Loire trip 2022; 6/15/2022-6/19/2022 (Loire, France): [At Domaine Huet] Although officially NV, this was the 2019 version. Easy, fresh with pear, citrus and apple. Medium+ finish. 3 ATM, 1 year sur lie
