An expression of bold winemaking that we don't see enough of. Very dark in color, more like a petit sirah. Nice candy cherry with smoky mustiness on the nose. Refined, complex, almost roasted red fruit. Big flavor, but medium bodied. Cinnamon. Must be heavy toast oak, that is quite different, but it works. Must have been a bruiser in it's youth. I'm sure bottle age has mellowed the tanin and acid. Lively, oaky finish
Popped and poured, simular to 6/09 notes, however noticed a little more alcohol on both the nose and palate. However a well made pinot that should drink well over the next 2-3 years, sadly my last bottle.
Popped and poured, wow great pinot, strawberry, cherry, black tea, smoke and earth in the nose, richly intergrated red fruits, earth, clove, cinnamin and plum on the palate that goes on and on. Ready to drink but plenty of life left.
