Pear, citrus, stone fruit, mineral; excellent balance between acid and sugar; very rich fruit but light; very very enjoyable and an amazing QPR at $17. L loved it.

Light gold in color, representative of its age. Full nose of MINERALS and apple. Surprising weight for a Kabinett; almost could be described as "rich" but with good, minerally acidity. Said acidity will help it keep for a fair bit -- especially with this surprising weight -- but it's probably at or near its peak and definitely at a sweet spot about now, so I'd drink up and hold the vineyard-specific stuff.

Almost too light to give it the score it probably deserves. 7.5% alc and yet not that sweet, so I'm guessing this would still be low alc even if it had been left until completely dry. Very well balanced as a light wine, with the strong acidity complementing the sugar perfectly. With a bit more weight, this would be an insanely good wine. As is, it is just a very very good wine and insane QPR.

Drank with Thai food. In this case the wine helped the food and the food helped the wine. On the nose a bit shy, not over complex but quite refreshing to drink. On the palette notes of slate and a lot of citrus and green apples. Certainly not sweet. The following night it was accompanied with Indian food. The wine was holding quite well and just as good as the first day.
