I was quite disappointed with this wine. Dominant oak and vegetal notes on the nose, although there's a lot going on underneath in form of nuts, grapefruit, dried apricots and some minerality. Intriguing more than convincing so far.
On the palate the wine also seems somewhat disjointed. The oak isn't very well integrated and together with the greenness and high acidity it leaves me with an impression of a wine that is lacking focus and precision. The fruit is support cast at best and the finish actually borders on being bitter.
We agree with Beezer quite a lot. Rand is as confused as he, my jury is a little more definitive. Nose with a little beeswax, more green and sauvignon-blanc like than tropical or peachy; palate is thin and faint at first but opens up into slight herbaciousness, with that acidity closing in at the end. It's long and pleasant (Rand says, in contrast, that "stemmy" is the word to use). Chewable. Don't know if I'd buy again for the money.
