Saved my last bottle for a few years to see what it could do, and glad I did. Softer, as per the vintage, and more open than previously. Quite delicious, versatile and food friendly. Pure Gruner nose of background citrus with an overlay of something I can only describe as canned cooked peas. Very distinctive and immediately identifieable as Gruner. Wish I had more. Wines like this make me wonder why I don't have more Austrian Gruners in the cellar. At peak, and for another 4-6 years. A good experiment, and in the future will give my Federspiels more time.

licht geel, licht petilant, mooie kruidige neus, gele appel, venkel en wat anijs, smaak is vrij zacht en in mooie balans, 12% geeft de wijn wat lichtvoetigs en elegant, prima

Showing more citrus on the nose at day two, and more acid structure emerging. Very good for everyday drinker for those of us that eat alot of New Mexican food!

Waxy, mineral (almost metallic), very ripe melon and subtle sherry nose (no, not oxidized, just the tiniest whiff of it, and adding a nice complexity). Sour peach, barley, a ripe honeyed floral component, great acidity and again that mineral/metallic note on the palate. Crisp, ripe, and quite refreshingly good. Better after 2-3 years. Starting to really like 06 Gruner Federspiels at this early stage, a great summer drink with lots of different food pairings - especially New Mexico green chili enchiladas!
