Black raspberry and cassis, touch of bell pepper, cigar smoke, still a touch of chewy tannin. Nicely balanced (listed at 12.5% ) and pretty fresh. B+/A-

Tuesday wine and fellowship. This totally unscripted pull was Ben's idea. Yeah, so by the time this bottle came out, inhibition was pretty much zero. If someone wasn't going to open it, I was going to. Surprised by the dark pour of this, but really was not surprised to see the density both on the pour, nose, and palate. Darker wine. I was getting a fair amount of blackberry, tar and licorice. Was also getting a hint of mushroom, plum. This wine was just too damn hedonistic for a 1986 Napa wine. Plenty of life if cellared properly. Bravo Ben.

Nose of mint, eucalyptus, mushroom, black berry, and baked cherry pie, same on the palate, medium/big body, very tasty, mouth filling fruit, a hint of soft, silky tannins on the mid palate, and a long finish and flavorful aftertaste. Added 2 photos of wine bottle.

Soft and supply. Classic well-made, mature cabernet sauvignon. Blackcurrant, pencil shavings, tobacco.
