-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 2 – 3 hours -- -- 50% Syrah, rest is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot --
NOSE: big/ripe blackberry/blueberry mix; a touch fumey; maple/oak.
BODY: lots of superfine particulate matter present; dark black-violet color of great depth; medium-full to full bodied.
TASTE: surprisingly good; some tertiary development to the red/purple fruit flavors; light oak; black cherry; huge/burly tannins from its youth have softened; a bit warm in the belly, but this is nonetheless good; 15.5% alc.; I'm surprised at how well this has aged; purchased back in the day when Booker would sell you a bottle of their wine for $28, and I think that's a fair price for this wine --- I wouldn't want to pay the current $50+ asking price, however; Drink Now.

This drank very solid. There is a certain presence of french oak still to be found in the aromatics, lots of cinnamon and barrel spice IMO. And too, this is a riper edged wine but it didn't go over the top for me, and instead stayed right in the zone. Nose shows some riper features but missing is any real alcohol signature or raisin notes. The palate showed nice red fruit and bdx like qualities and despite the good % of syrah in this wine, it tastes more like a CA-styled Bdx blend, with enough linear and currant qualities to make this very interesting. I dug this.

Rock solid. Tasted much younger than expected. I will hold the last bottle for a couple of years...
