  • Delicious and balanced. Stood up well to Rhys and Burgundies tasted earlier in evening although a bit more fruit.

  • Popped and gave this bottle 2 hours to open up. Got to restaurant and gave it a 30 minute decant. On the nose it showed a lot of heat mostly. Some tabacoo, dried cherry, cloves, Black lic. On the palate the wine is full bodied. A rush on the front , hollow mid, and tannic finish.

On the palate, there is brown sugar, dried cherry, cinn, plum, big bubble gum.

Texture: yea, sure. It is :velvety and soft but for a reason. High ALC. made a fool of myself when I stumbled out of the restaurant.

    Finish: Short to medium

Acid: Seemed to be lacking---the goat disagreed.

    Alc: Way over the top

    Balance: non existent

    Sugar: A little sweet.

Overall, this was not that good. Cant beleive Tanzer gave it a 91. Totally disagree with Parkers assesment. This is NOT FEMININE in any way as it is border line "baby cab."

  • This is phenomenal, lush, chewy, black fruit ala Cote de nuits Burgundian style.

  • Dark ruby verging on purple in color, with a nose of cranberry, orange rind, and oak shavings. The wine has an expansive palate of black cherry and raspberry compote, with roasted herb and Asian spice characteristics. Beautifully ripe and medium to full-bodied, the finish shows a tart but not unpleasant acid character, which provides staying power to the big fruit profile.

  • slightly acidic after two bottles of the Arrendell before opening Velvet Sisters. This bottle did not quite have the smoothness and balance of previous Velvet Sisters consumed. Nonetheless, this was an enjoyable bottle of wine with trademark Hartford fruits and smooth texture.
