Another delicious Turley Zin. Ripe and opulent, but beginning to show its age. Slight copper tinge to edge. A rich, nostril-filling nose loaded with black fruit, spices (Asian 5-spicey) pepper and a distinctive minerality. Raspberry and black cherry flavors still clinging on. Drink up, people, it's as good as its going to get.
Big Wines Night - or how a Riesling stole the show?: latex note of the top, but it blew off to reveal red berry and herbs black currant jam and ripe southern rhone mid. touch of raisin and black pepper. balanced even at its 16.1% good acidity in the back palatte and a hint of tannin. Perfect now.
still plenty of life left in this. Dark ruby color great legs on the glass still powerful. Decanted for 2 hours consumed over 1 hour, taste of dark stone fruits with hints of black pepper silky smooth with a long finish.
Dark ruby core that is moderately hazy fades to a lighter ruby then thick watery rim. high viscosity leaves thick legs trailing down the glass slowly after taking minutes to form. Day bright reflections and moderate+ concentration. After allowing to decant aromas evolve and blossom to show strawberry rhubarb pie, wild raspberry preserves, bramble, ground pink peppercorns, roses, sandalwood and exotic spices that lean on ground cinnamon and garam masala with lighter touches of earth and smoked meat. On the palate almost delicate flavors of roses, fresh baked strawberry rhubarb pie, stewed plum, pink peppercorn and indian spices, cinnamon, wood/bramble and hints of smoke and old leather. The acidity and dusty tannins are both moderate, and the finish lingers pleasantly on notes of cooked strawberry with flowers and spice at moderate intensity. Overall holding up very well, still requires a decent decant and a well put together elegant feminine wine
