During PNV week, tasting at Cardinale hosted by Chris Carpenter. A terrrific host, vintner and wine educator...
Spice, aok and black fruits on the nose. Palate was dark and red fruits, chocolate, coffee. Its aging nicely, tannins still there and need further softening for this to come through. Would cellar for another few years and revisit
Had this as the third wine of the night and it was pretty decent. The massive tannins are harsh and gritty and definitely coat the palate. This is not my favorite type of cab where I feel like I'm fighting the wine as in trying to figure out what I can sense from it through are the grit. I personally would cellar these for 10+ yrs before opening another bec it was just not quite in the right place yep. If the tannins settle and integrate this could be beautiful if not them just take a few grap stems and chew them up its the same sensation as drinking this.
