  • Consistent with earlier tasting notes, this still shows big floral and perfume bouquet, huge full forward fruit accented by sweet currant - with a predominant almost cognac flavor, dark ripe cherry, spice, and tones of smoke, anise and licorice on the long moderate tannin tangy finish. Again, as before, even bigger and brighter than earlier tastings.

  • A present given several years ago...pretty firm purple color and showing a nose rendolent of a little dark berry, cassis, and a dark coffee nuance. Not very structured, seemed a bit on the back end of its evolution with some easy fruit structure and a light framework. Pleasant enough, but no wow factor...

  • tasted@winery: The 1st glass given to us as we began the "cave tour" we were told was "2000 Reserve Cab" and the barrel was of southern france origin. I can't be sure it was this undesignated cab sauv or one of the many various "connoisseurs' series" or other designations -- or if it really even matters.
Pretty basic cab, first impression was a fairly dense body, a little acetone on the nose and a bit of lime cleanser, otherwise basic indistinct vineous varietal character.
