Tasted by angryphoton on 8/18/2008 & rated 89 points: nice rhone blend, beautiful nose, pear, melon, papaya. palate was well balanced with nice acidity but not too sour. nice sweet notes of tropical fruits and hints of flowers on the nose again. slight bitterness in the finish keeps it from breaking 90.  Tasted by Alarak on 12/30/2007 & rated 92 points: Very ripe yet balanced by subtle acidity. Flowers and melon, very complex. Had with Salmon sauteed in olive oil and garlic, cous-cous and a goat cheese salad. Wine held up easily to the big food flavors. Each bite of food brought out different facets of the wine. A real beauty. (368 views)

California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in almost 10 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
