  • This is a birth year wine for daughter Purchased 12 in 1999. The wine is now 27.5 years old and I was shocked at how it held up over the years and improved over 2-3 hours. Decanted and had off putting smell that made me question it. But it opened and grew, well past its purported drink by date. We have enjoyed one a year since 2016 and it was the last one All 12 held up well and am
Sad it’s over but happy it was worth opening.

  • Time has overtaken this wine. Still enjoyable, it has lost most of its character. What remains is an earthy cab where the tannins have mellowed. We decanted the bottle an hour before drinking. There was very little sediment present. It opened up a bit but could never be more than it was when first decanted.

  • Drank in 2015. Still well structured with currant and cassis. Need to drink now for sure. Ran it through an unbleached filter into decanter and caught a lot of sediment.

  • At Meredith's going to France party - birth year wine for my oldest daughter. Has been in the cellar waiting for an appropriate occasion. Well stored, purchased at release, this performed very well.

Medium red color, no bricking. Nose has mellowed from prior bottles, elegant, fruit and vanilla.. Berry, jam and dark fruit, Bordeaux-like with some graphite/lead, oak, earth. Fruit has lots of presence. Good structure to give the wine full mouth-feel.

Would not have guessed this would age as well as it did. I may differ from other tasters, this bottle had another 5 years in it. My last bottle, had it on a great night for a great occasion.

  • For an 18 year old bottle of wine it has gel up very well. Clearly the best wine of the 90's from my cellar
