Tasted by WineontheBarrelhead on 5/25/2009 & rated 88 points: Dense and chewy, with concentrated flavors of blueberry, vanilla bean, and sweet oak. True to the "big" Aussie style and almost syrupy, with barely enough acid to maintain balance and structure. Fans of this style will thoroughly enjoy it. Fans of more restrained - especially Old World - wines, beware. (536 views)

Tasted by Mr France on 3/19/2009 & rated 90 points: Full bodied. Dark color. Smell of coffee and tobacco. Black fruit and slightly peppery taste. Nice long finish. Needs a minimum of 45-1 hour to open up. Iit was difficult waiting that long, but well worth it. (679 views)
Tasted by RoundersRob on 3/11/2009 & rated 90 points: Very dark purple with a big, room filling, nose of crushed blackberries mixed with new oak. This is a really big, fruit forward wine with a heavy oak influence on the palate. We decanted this for about 3 hours and that gives it a good amount of time to open up. Full bodied from start to finish and there is also a little touch of a white pepper on the finish. This wine is Aussie Shiraz through and through and if you enjoy the style, you will really enjoy this wine. I never used to be a big fan of this style but I must admit that they do grow on you a bit and I can see why they are so popular. (773 views)
Tasted by jwh on 12/5/2008 & rated 87 points: It was initially a little bitter on first taste. I would decant it for an hour or two before serving. It then opens up a lot of fruit and is very pleasant to drink. It was definitely better the next day. (766 views)
Tasted by Alex H on 9/27/2008 & rated 83 points: New World Wine Experience 2008 (Crystal Wines): Spice box, coffee, chocolate, mocha and good black fruit flavours. Quite elegant with good balance and finese. Yum! (812 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 9/27/2008 & rated 92 points: Crystal Wines New World Experience 2008 (Valley Point, Singapore): This was really nice. Dark purple colour. Perfumed nose, with some flowers, and blackcurrants and plums wrapped in a lightly oaked package. Nice, clean palate, with good weight in the black fruit flavours, a nice peppery undertone and a touch of woodiness along with a yummy, savoury meat undertone. I found this nicely balanced, with a lovely round acidity. Very decent finish with a handful of spice. (862 views)
Tasted by mmurry on 9/6/2008 & rated 92 points: Staff Favorites (Farpointe Cellar): A wonderful nose of stone, blueberry, coffee, toast, and vanilla. The was sweet, and had blueberry, plum, spice, minerals, and a little chocolate on the finish. (786 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 8/23/2008: Fruity, smooth. 4,000 cases (767 views)
Tasted by bonemachine on 6/3/2008 & rated 92 points: Clear in the glass, opaque/black to the rim, purple hues. Clean nose, bit muted, opens slowly with blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, slight heat. Then mint. Full bodied, low tannins but pronounced acidity. Cherry, some minerality, black pepper, firm and mouthwatering. Long and intense finish. This is very good, the alcohol and ripeness of fruit is reigned in by the remarkable acidity. (859 views)
