Really nice wine. Spice and red fruits. Dark color. Let it breathe for an hour before drinking so it can open up. A very nice introduction to the mencia grape.

Dark coloration yet much lighter on the palate. Not sure Ive had this grape before, but this example would seem to make for a very nice food friendly wine. Smooth and well made, not complex but for the price I was not let down.

Really nice wine in a bit of an exotic way since I'm only getting to know the mencía grape. Really nice floral notes on the nose--I would call it lilac and smoke, maybe even mesquite. There's something spicy in the smoke. Lush and sweetly velvety on the palate. Definite black fruits and sweet spices--cinammon, anise and a really nice non-sticky licorice--come through. Just a little bit of bacon in the background. This is a wine that I need to investigate more. I feel like my Burgundy-loving friends talking about the "mystery" of the wine...
