Dark ruby to garnet-pink at the rim. Shy nose that never fully opened up even with 4-5 hours of air, but there are hints of violet, black raspberry fruit, and earth at times. Medium-full on the palate with substantial fruit density, mainly violet flavors, and a very well integrated acidity that keeps the wine very fresh. The finish is clamped down with noticeable but fine tannins. All the pieces are there for this to drink really well once it's opened up, but that will take some time yet. Try again in 3-5 years.

Drinking quite well! Medium weight burg, as one might expect from the vintage and appellation, not nearly as ripe as some of the other 2005s I’ve had this year. Mellowed res fruit, well integrated with a savory and spicy base. Good value.

Need ard 2 hr of aeration to open up. Nose of red fruits, little teritiary of leather and mushroom. The palate is really nice with a savoury and mineral taste, and some vanilla okay. Very fine tannin. Can drink well now and certainly can age for few more years for all the elements to fully integrate.

Last of four bottles, no doubt all consumed too young. Good heft, sharp Savigny gout de terroir & dirt. Mildly ravishing, as good Vergelesses can be. Bize reaps the accolades, but I'm not sure how far behind this wine would be with more time.

extremely vegetal aromas, dirty, unpleasant. If that was what they were going for, yikes.
