Just as with the last bottle, is shows quite well in the glass what with its pink-to-bronze shading and vigorous mousse. But the mousse is coarse. The bouquet is weak, but displays some strawberry and framboise, which carries over well to the palate where the framboise leads the attack and carries the profile to the finish. But the finish is short with some anise that then turns bitter. The wine lacks depth and is very linear. Like our presidential candidates, there’s not much character here. 12.5% alc. With crusty bread and cheeses. Recommended with reservations.

  Wonderful aged sparkler, while a NV bottling I have been storing this for at least 5 years. Light, balanced, smooth, just hits the spot. Tasted along side a much more expensive Champagne, this held its own, although perhaps lacked a bit of the creamy sweetness that the Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial offered. Great bargain!!
