Vinturied into decant, The cork was 100% intact(always a concern). The color matched the name perfectly…black olives exploded upon first smell and sip, not as compelling as the last one with the acidity being just a bit off in balance but that’s splitting hairs here, still fun to drink. All said it’s in a good spot and not really showing much age for a 17 yr old btl. I have 2 more and will drink them starting next year to year.

Past its peak but still has some life left. Very rich and dark with good acidity. Juicy plum and dark fruit flavors, soft tannins, minimal oak showing.

Incredibly aromatic nose of brine, liquid stones, graphite, iron fillings, and black currant. On the palate the fruits are still present, but the savory elements dominate and are wonderfully expressive. Still very tannic with a mouth puckering finish.

End of life but still lovely. Needs lots time in decanter. It peaked 3-4h after decanting

A step-up from my other bottle drunk in 2017. Delicious mature fruit and secondary flavors. This wine is at or near peak. drink of hold.
