Cellared this bottle since 2011 after acquiring from Donelan Wines as a closeout after the breakup with Pax & Donelan. Very much in the hedonistic, full throttle new world style of Syrah - more dark jammy fruit than savory and aromatic. Got better with time in the glass, so recommend a decant before drinking. Not really what I am looking for in a Syrah, but will appeal to those who like a big, bold fruit forward style.

Hedonistic and full bodied Syrah. Definitely doesn’t feel 14 years old. Very smooth and punchy. Peppery, inky nose, robust, rich slightly smoky body. Very long finish. Excellent, feels much more like a Barossa than a Sonoma!

I have started to run through my remaining 2006 vintage Pax syrahs, the Cuvee Keltie that we had last night was probably the least memorable, however undoubtedly still a good wine. Opened up after an hour but started to fall apart by hour 5. Will make sure to drink up my remaining two bottles soon.

Maybe I waited too long.
Looks old. Dark, viscous and cloudy. I said Boysenberry syrup with beef jerky and M said dirty diapers.

Quite soft and round. Fruit is pushed more red than I would have thought and this drips of fatty meats, like a gyro or Donar.
