  • Showing very well. The acidity is still prominent but it's not nearly so aggressive as it was last year, as it's been stitched into the beautiful strawberry nose and palate. It's clean but it has suggestions of complexity, thanks to the minerally finish that dances on the tongue. Nice to see how some rosés not named Heredia can really gain from some time, and it went really well with the earthy wontons (chives, eggplant, porcini) I fried up as an appetizer.

  • nose: very interesting rose nose of orange peel, strawberry, some tart cherry, and even some earth tones. while a bit light, there is some nice depth to this that I haven't come across in a rose before

taste: nice fresh and light feel of orange peel, lemon zest, and some strawberry tones

overall: a very nice rose. I wish the flavor profile provided some of the depth of the nose, but this is a good crisp rose

  • Through the wonders of CT discovered had tasted of the previous vintage at another tasting. Much of the notes from then apply here. Hard to believe it's a PN because it has the tartness and minerality you would expect of a SB from this region (triumph of terroir over varietal). There is a bit of that PN fruitiness to distinguish but not much. A decent accompaniment for barbequed chicken or salads or the like.

  • Though made from Pinot Noir, the sharp, flinty grapefruit flavors remind me of Sauvignon Blanc. The aromas are of apple and forest floor while the flavors offer grapefruit, quince, and green apple. Nicely focused and high-toned. Definitely more of a food wine than a quaffer. Another bottle stashed for 2008 in order to see how the sharp acidity resolves over time.
