Opened up more after an hour. Sweet ripe fruits entry, medium+ bodied with good palate weight. Minty finish, long and lingering. Very good Brunello and holding amazingly well, should hold well for 5+ years. (92+ 93) My wine #3, group's #4
Tight cork. Deep ruby color; profound aromatic nose both while pouring and in the glass, nice complex combination of red berries, some spice, nutmeg, slight brambly characteristic (almost stemmy, but not quite), some emerging dark secondary aromas like licorice and chocolate; palate has medium body, high acid, medium tannins still a bit rough that give good structure, juicy red fruits, strawberry, some raspberry; medium-long persistent finish that remains fresh, not dense, though has a slight roughness to it. Easily the best brunello that I've tried. This wine still tastes young with a long life ahead, but is extraordinarily enjoyable now. My last bottle will wait ~3 years. 94-95
Opened by Jim at Vie with xhoser and locals. This was eye opening for me as I am not much of an Italian fan. That's what you get for generalizing. Notes of black fruits, chocolate and licorice on the finish. Tannins are still present, but not obtrusively so. This was a wonderful treat.
