Community Tasting Notes (average 89.4 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 17 notes)

Tasted by dmatley on 3/26/2009 & rated 88 points: Best bottle of this to date. It seems to have picked up structure as odd as that sounds. Still drank well on second day. (983 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 3/24/2009 & rated 90 points: Berry and sweet cherry on the nose and has a lovely red fruit on the palate with nice tannin and a solid finish. Better than last bottle and quite yummy (1035 views)
Tasted by cbbrown3 on 1/18/2009 & rated 90 points: A nice maroon color. Sweet, peppery crushed berries and cherries on the nose with some vanilla and leather. Medium to full body with ripe tannins and good acidity. On the palate the fruit is redder than on the nose with sweet cherries leading the way with peppery blackberries lending support. Good length on the finish. A nice, ripe, but not syrupy shiraz. (1047 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 11/23/2008 & rated 90 points: nice berry and strong finish (1066 views)
Tasted by Dillo on 10/1/2008 & rated 87 points: Deep ruby color. Nose of dark berry fruit, spice, leather and various earthy notes. Palate displayed an initial blast of sweet, dark plummy fruit & spice that (relatively quickly) faded into a disappointingly weak mid-palate. Pleasant full body, with good acidity to balance the fruit, but the finish was all tongue-smacking tight green tannin. (1141 views)
Tasted by wordstar on 6/28/2008 & rated 89 points: Showed great potential on the first night with a full-on steak dinner, not so much a few days later. Full, rich, and fruity are indeed apt descriptors, but there seems to be something missing in the totality of the wine. It's quite good, but has left us guessing about which direction age and development may take it. (1280 views)
Tasted by lumbarpuncture on 5/27/2008 & rated 90 points: Classic Barossa Shiraz. Meaty, full fruit & body, well-integrated tannins. Good with meaty fare. Somewhat sweet.

Good qpr, not great. (1447 views)
Tasted by mkbabs on 5/24/2008 & rated 91 points: Very nice blend of old world flavors and ripe fruits. Smokey dark cherries and a nice tannic grip. (1346 views)
Tasted by neurovino on 2/24/2008 & rated 89 points: Drank with NY strip and brussel sprouts. Full flavor with tons of fruit. Sweet, but a little tart, too. Tart faded over the course of a couple of hours. Overall a nice wine. Probably about what I would expect for the price. Not as good as the 2006 Two Hands Angels Share from last night, which is in the same price range. (1790 views)

Tasted by EaglesWin on 1/4/2008 & rated 88 points: (1480 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 11/1/2007 & rated 90 points: nice, rich and full shiraz with rich berry, cherry and red fruit, a little spice on the mid-palate and a long finish (2136 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 10/5/2007 & rated 90 points: Good quality Shiraz with a slightly oily look to it which I have not seen in a Shiraz before. Overall, reasonable quality though I think there are other Shiraz alternatives at similar or better prices. (2256 views)
Tasted by neurovino on 9/13/2007 & rated 90 points: This was a quality shiraz. Nose was slight, and belied a full balanced flavor. This wine was focused all the way through, with rich tannins at the end. Opened significantly over 90 minutes, and worth the wait. Pleased over all. (2503 views)
Tasted by yeastbeast on 8/24/2007 & rated 89 points: Drank it with ChrisP, Snorri and Molli with a tri-tip dinner. Rich, concentrated, sweet shiraz... a bit lean around the mid-palate and can probably stand a few more months in bottle to loosen up. However, it was really unfair to hold it up the stupendous Lot 38 shiraz. (2574 views)
Tasted by DanSm on 8/17/2007 & rated 89 points: C. Hughes Letter is accurate. Good, but not up to the quality of Lot #38. Barossa Valley Shiraz is intense. (2506 views)
