Medium to full body with ripe tannins and good acidity. On the palate the fruit is redder than on the nose with sweet cherries leading the way with peppery blackberries lending support. Palate displayed an initial blast of sweet, dark plummy fruit & spice that (relatively quickly) faded into a disappointingly weak mid-palate. Pleasant full body, with good acidity to balance the fruit, but the finish was all tongue-smacking tight green tannin. (1141 views) | |

Tart faded over the course of a couple of hours. Overall a nice wine. Probably about what I would expect for the price. Rich, concentrated, sweet shiraz... a bit lean around the mid-palate and can probably stand a few more months in bottle to loosen up.
