  • Opened and poured straight from the wine fridge. Nose was a little muted initially but opened up as the wine warmed up to room temp. I am guessing there is a lot more Cab franc in the blend by the nose and taste. There is a little more vegetal component and bits of dark chocolate. Medium bodied and dry. Not an ideal pairing with Chinese food (Chinese New Year dinner) but on its own, its a nice Bordeaux. Would probably be better paired with a piece of steak or some game.

  • Classic mid-range aged St Emilion - nose of chocolate, herbs and dark fruit - in the mouth medium bodied but very resolved tannins and good complexity for the price - slightly dry, dusty finish with excellent balance of tannins. I love this style of wine - not too heavy, light in the mouth. Not excessive. This isnt going to win any awards but it reminds me why this region can produce such good wine at this price. Drink now if you have any.

  • 50-50 blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Deep intense purple colour. Spicy, green pepper, mature, plum jam nose. Dry, medium full bodied, plummy slightly earthy. A very nice wine ... given the price, certainly good value.
