  • Just opened, so more to follow as this baby needs some air. Midnight blue, what I can coax out of the nose so far I like with some notes of blueberry, smoked meats, violet?, spice and cedar, but fairly unyielding without air. Front and mid-palate is smooth, the typical Dunn tannins arise on the finish. I like the Dunn style as it is one of the few original signatures in Napa, so I am a bit biased. This is interesting. This could be mistaken as an '02 not '92. Some pepper on the palate. Finish it still a little dry.

  • Had another bottle that was much better. This tastedover two evenings good nose but thin on thae palate. The fruit/tanin bablance is heavily towards the coarse tanins which I doubt will mellow over time from here. Caused much controversy at the table.

  • Amazing stuff, tasted last after an astounding group of wines, decanted for 6 hours, and still was a pup. Easily 10 years left on this thing. It did grow in the glass, but as usual with Randy's wines, this was a little more restrained, and not over the top with massive thickness. Beautiful wine, only tipped the scales at 13.6 alcohol, cool stuff. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good '92 to have if you have children born in that year!
