Cork still in in good shape.Aired in the glass ca ½ hour.Nose showed some funk and pine forest.Still vibrant palate, delivering funk,a little smoke, pine needles,a little pepper and dark sweet fruit.Tannins are mellowing but still firm. This is singing beautifully right now, and should have some years ahead.
Fully mature and properly stinky old syrah nose. Very leathery with sprinkles of cracked black perppercorns and autumn bonfires. Fruit is just about hanging in there lending a touch of blackcurrant liqueur, but the (nicely balanced) secondaries take centre stage. Really good with roast belly pork.
Great wine - fruit has almost disappeared but has been replaced by a wonderful nose of old Côte-Rôtie with black olives, coffee, leather. Maybe a tad disappointing on the palate but very long finish. Sadly my last and only bottle.
