Funnily enough (at this age) not brick red but almost too youthful dark red. Yes it is impressive for its age but just too big a wine with little definition or attractive fruit. A bit of a clumsy blob and a bit hard work in reality.

Deep garnet and brick red. Tired nose with secondary notes and prunes. Lots of red tones and greenery, a little nicer than the 1994. Low plus tannins (4.5/10) and medium bodied. Medium and paper dry finish too. Drink now.

real nice aged Trilogy, brick red almost all the way through, med body, felt like a real nice trip into history on this one, not great but real good; was better after an hour or so.

Slightly rust colored dark purple. Medium bodied. Earthy, leathery, black berry, spicy black cherry, hint of eucalyptus on the lingering spice and tannin finish.

popped and poured. Lately haven't rough times with long decantations. Smooth body and balance, dark fruit -- but oh so acidic finished. ~1 hour in the bottle before the wine thinned out. Reasonable showing and a reasonable rec. from K&L.
