  • spicy and resiny, still a little young rich, polished, still a little tight on second tasting in spring 2004. seems very ageworthy, but a little pricy.

  • Perhaps this wine should have been enjoyed several years ago because there wasn't much there. The nose promised an earthiness that was not present in the wine. Light-to-medium bodied. A little soft fruit that was difficult to put your finger on. Tannins nearly absent. Easily drinkable but disapointing.

  • I have always enjoyed Landmark's pinots although do not believe the last as long as Parker notes. 2000 from cooler vintage is consistent with prior versions...lighte color and sytle but larger in gamey and secondary pinot flavors. All the pieces of the puzzle have come together well. In today's world of over extracted "syrah-pinots" I think Landmark's style is refreshingly older world. Maybe a little pricey for this version, nonetheless solid and enjoyable.

  • What a great turnaround. When I last tasted this wine (1/1/05), it was somewhat weak (I rated it 85 points). Since then it has really come around. Bricked out and lighter style, this wine shows typical pinot attributes very well. Gamy with enough cherry and cranberry to be tasty. This acid and tannin have resolved into a very harmonious, cranberry finish. It is certainly does not have the depth of the 02 Kastania but it has become quite delicious as it is.

  • Color shows some orange. Nose of cherries and cranberries. Medium mouth feel. Enough acid to make for a nice food wine.
