  • This pours very light garnet in the glass. Medium bricking. The nose is expressive maturing and complex showing nori, pickled ginger, dried cherry, dried strawberry, matsutake mushroom, a whiff of new oak that is quite integrated, and a touch of blood orange. Lovely profile aromatically. The palate is still relatively youthful showing bright blood orange on entry, with medium tannin and medium plus acid. The finish is a little woody, but closes out by replaying the nose. Quite a pretty expression here and if anything could use a few more years to further resolve the palate.

  • Beautiful transluscent light Burgundy color. A little bit of sediment thrown. Interesting nose like a hand made floral based soap really hits a high register rather than a full bored gutteral sensation. A bit of gout de terroir and some Chineese five spice as well. Nice light red fruits on the attack. Somewhat ethereal with a light medium weight mouthfeel and a long gentle finish that ends in a wisp. Almost drinks like sublimation. Very much the classic ower and grace of fine Burgundy. A lot going on in a very light frame. A very good Vougeot but not mind altering as one might hope. This may continue to gain comlexity with additional aging but possibly at the expense of additional weight. Its a close call. I might wait an additional five years to open but no more than that.
